WORSHIP THOUGHTS

01/06/07 - Vision

At the beginning of a new year many people make new resolutions and fall at the first hurdle. They plan to walk more, diet more, work more. All of these are admirable in themselves, but without a plan and a strategy they will fail and many of them in the first week of the new year, unfortunately.

With the worship teams in churches I beleive that at the beginning of each year it is time to take stock and do three things:

1) Assess where you have come from.

2) Assess where you have come to.

3) Assess where you are going.

A good discussion on all of these three phases will help tremendously in our moving ahead into 2007. Did we falter in 2006? Did we loose our way, did we do things that need to continue? Have we learnt anything. Can I encourage you as a Worship Team leader to devote time to working some of these through with the team that you serve. It will stand you in good stead for what God will bring your way in 2007 and help you to prepare you for the task ahead.

My prayer is that as we embark together into 2007 the Holy Spirit would reveal more of Jesus to us and we would be true to our calling as worshippers first and foremost. Those who delight in being in his presence and want to see that increase in their lives in this year. Let us not be those who fall at the first hurdle and falter our way through this year. Rather let us start as we mean to continue and assist each other to maintain that momentum.
