WORSHIP THOUGHTS
22/04/06 - Two are better than one!
Working alone, or working without anyone else helping and supporting you, can be devastating.
Just recently my wife and I and a guest at our home began work on clearing our garden after the winter. We had probably left it too long, but we had a window of opportunity and we grasped it. Had I attempted to do the work myself the output would have been considerably less than the three of us working together. In fact the thought of me doing it all by myself is devastating! In Leviticus 26v8 we read, “Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand!” Each of the five chased twenty; but each of the hundred chased one hundred. What a return?
In the New Testament we see Jesus sending out the disciples in twos, Mark 6v7. And when Paul travelled there was always a Barnabas or a Silas there. Are you getting my gist? Working in isolation makes you isolated and speaks of independence. Working alongside others speaks of interdependency.
God himself is Father, Son and Spirit.
Marriage is a husband and a wife.
A worship team is a mix of personalities, abilities and gifting flowing together to bring honour to Jesus.
Can I please encourage you to work alongside someone whether you are writing songs, playing an instrument, singing, or serving in any other way.
You and I walking out our covenant
You and I deeply joined in love
You and I watching for our brother
Our hearts joined in one accord
And Jesus, is our only Lord
It starts with you and I
I join my heart with your heart
Join my life with yours
Join my hand to your hand
Together in one accord.
