WORSHIP THOUGHTS

09/02/2006 - Study on Worship IV

What God has to say about Worship

Judah, the City of Praise

Gen 29v35 Once again she became pregnant and had a son. She named him Judah, for she said, “Now, I will praise the Lord!” And then she stopped having children.

She cried out, “Now, I will praise the Lord.” Judah was birthed in praise. Judah means: to hold out the hand, to make confession, to throw (a stone, an arrow) at or away, to revere or worship with extended hands, to praise, thanksgiving.

Praise with our lips is the equivalent of throwing with our hands. It’s like an explosive action that projects the object towards a target.

Caleb was of the tribe of Judah, Numbers 34v19, and so was Jesus! God is jealous for Judah. Achan did it his way, and received just punishment. There is a plumb line at work. Joshua 7v16f.

List five things God says about Judah

5 …………………………………………………………………………..

Be a citizen of Judah, with all of its benefits.
