What God has to say about Worship

Last week we looked at first mentions. This week we will do the same. As we found out we can learn a lot from digging around in the Word.

Gen 22 Here we have the story of the testing of Abraham. God wanted to see what he was made of. Ring any bells? Isn’t that what God is after with us? Here, in verse 5, we have the first mention of worship in the Bible.

God had already spoken to him about the promise.

Ch 12v2-3; 15v4-6; 17v1-8; 17v 15-22; 22v1-18. A series of encounters that Abraham, formerly called Abram, had with God. In Ch 15v6 we read that Abraham believed the Lord.

What is worship?
