WORSHIP THOUGHTS
29/04/06 - Making your weekend fruitful
I am sure that many people who are involved in Worship Teams have a love/hate relationships with weekends. They either love the "buzz" of being at the front or performing their latest song. or, they feel pressurized to play songs that they don't really know.
Whatever positiong you find yourself in - have a fruitful weekend!
Make it fruitful by:
- Focusing on Jesus as you worship
- Being a team player rather than a Prima Donna
- Devote yourself to stretching your ability to learn songs
- Whatever you do do with a servant heart
- Being filled with the Spirit
If you take on board these five things you will feel less vulnerable and much less pressurized. As it says in Colosians 3 v 1-2, "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set you minds on things above, not on earthly things."
Earthly things will distract you and move your focus away from the place where it should be. Songs, instruments, microphones etc. are things that can get in the way of our true calling to be worshippers. As Hebrews 3 v 1 says, "fix your thoughts on Jesus."
My prayer is that as you focus on Christ and his things, you will be enlarged and encouraged, as well as having a fruitful weekend.
